A Summer Morning Walk Around Hemphill Park

Continuing on my trip around central Austin, I stopped by Hemphill Park. While I’ve been in the area before to check out Spiderhouse, the Ballroom, and Arcade UFO, I’ve never actually explored the area.

So let’s do a little exploring.

The park area is giant median across a couple of streets.
What really makes it nice to look at is all the stone work.
While some people might see it as blight, some street art is really nice to look at (or just silly fun).
Trudy’s and Spiderhouse haven’t had much love since the pandemic. They’ve seen better days.
The ballroom is still around at least.
