A Summer Morning Walk Around the North Shore of Lady Bird Lake

I have not explored every part of Lady Bird Lake yet. This morning, I added another part to my list: the north shore near Austin High School.

My journey started at the Crenshaw Pedestrian Walkway under MoPac at Austin High School. This connects to Zilker Park on the other side of the bridge.
These are some of the best views along the lake as West Lake Hills hides in the west and downtown is in the background to the east.
Can’t get enough of the art in and around the area. Wait… didn’t I see that octopus in Hemphill Park?
Looks like pathways that once went somewhere now go nowhere.
Heading east from Mopac along the trail, you can sometimes forget you’re next to the city center.
The trail stays pretty close to the lake most of the way to Lamar.
Plenty of places to sit, look out over the lake, and be with your thoughts.
The rowing club has its home right in the middle of the trail. Plenty of people out on the lake this morning.
The skyline is a reminder that downtown isn’t far off.
While closer to downtown, the Pfluger Pedestrian Bridge is still a nice separator between city and nature.
While plenty of foot traffic, vehicle traffic is quiet on an early Sunday morning.
Not a lot of woodland creatures out and about today.
